Established 2020

Steel Mill Farms began as a back porch conversation between lifelong friends. Rooted in our hometown of Bettie, Texas, our two families—the Steelmans and the Millers—grew up surrounded by incredible men and women who shaped our values. Whether gathered around a dinner table or talking over a fence post, they instilled in us a deep love for Jesus, good food, and freedom.

In today’s fast-paced, convenience-driven world, we’re committed to providing quality, farm-fresh beef you can trust. Our mission goes beyond just feeding families—we aim to bring the heart of small family farm values to every dinner table (or fence post) for generations to come.

Frequently Asked Questions

We partner with local farmers and ranchers to purchase healthy, premium genetic quality calves after weaning.  We then bring these calves to our farm to raise on grass pasture and carefully measured amounts of supplemental grain until harvesting.

Ethical husbandry begins with the relationships fostered between ourselves and our local farm and ranch partners.  We work together to ensure from birth until weaning, the animals we select will be hormone free and raised in low stress environments.  Once on our farm, we provide fresh quality forage, clean water, and make every possible effort to handle each animal with dignity and respect, knowing we are stewarding God’s creation.

We try to provide abundance to every animal.  For as long as they are part of our farm, we want them to have ample room to roam, fresh forage, clean water, shade from the heat, and protection from the cold.  It is our desire to provide the best life possible while they are under our care.

Our animals never receive hormones, and will only receive antibiotics in the event of a medical emergency.  We work closely with a nutritionist to ensure the grains our animals receive contain a vitamin and multimineral supplement to prevent illness and disease.  If an animal ever does require antibiotics, we will hold that animal on our farm until the antibiotic has been eliminated from its body, thereby preventing antibiotics from entering the food chain.

Our beef is harvested at JT2 Pack, a USDA inspected facility, in Tyler, Texas while our pork is harvested at BRK Meats, a USDA inspected facility, in Carthage, Texas.
